Venvi Gallery's 10th anniversary exhibit 'is both a celebration and a reflection'

Venvi Art Gallery is delighted to showcase "From Vision to Reality: 10 Years of Venvi Art Gallery," a group exhibit in honor of its 10-year anniversary. The opening reception will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7.

A decade ago, Venvi Art Gallery opened its doors with a bold vision: to create a space where contemporary art could flourish in Tallahassee. Over the years, the gallery has evolved into more than an exhibition space; it has become a meeting ground for ideas, dialogue, and the forging of community through creativity.

In 1978, a few months after receiving his MFA in studio art at Florida State University, Jack Reilly loaded up his old Rambler station Wagon and headed west to Los Angeles to establish his career as a painter. 47 years later his paintings return to Tallahassee for a solo show at Venvi Art Gallery (2901, E. Park Ave.) opening Friday, August 1 @ 5-8pm. He returns with over 50 solo exhibitions under his belt, countless group exhibitions, hundreds of reviews, and the title of Professor Emeritus from California State University. This newest exhibition introduces his latest circular shaped-canvas paintings to the Tallahassee community.

Venvi Art Gallery presents “Locales: North Florida’s Plein Air Landscapes” featuring oil paintings by local artist Nan Liu. This exhibition will showcase over 30 of his original paintings and will be on display from Nov. 1 to Jan. 19, 2025. The opening reception will be held from 5-8 p.m. Nov. 1.

Locales: North Florida’s Plein Air Landscapes will feature 30 oil paintings by Nan Liu that reflect his experiences in Tallahassee. Locales: North Florida’s Plein Air Landscapes seeks to express the joyous sensations Liu feels from the natural world, especially in the many undisturbed and undestroyed locales.

This exhibition highlights their unique perspectives on the theme through the repetition of patterns, color and marks. Hidden Layers, Visible Boundaries opens with a reception from 5-8 pm on September 6th, and the exhibition runs through October 13, 2024.

Venvi Art Gallery unveils solo 'Dance of Hues' exhibit

Venvi Art Gallery announces the opening of "Dance of Hues," an exclusive solo exhibition by abstract artist Brinda Pamulapati. This vibrant showcase features 28 original paintings, each a vivid exploration of color and motion. The exhibition will run from May 17 to June 16, with an opening reception from 5-8 p.m. May 17.
"Dance of Hues" explores the dynamic interactions between colors, embracing the spontaneity of the compositions that emerge when solely being guided by interplay and contrasting hues. It draws inspiration from the concept of movement and expression, in a way that is similar to dance. Instead of tangible objects, hues are the main focus of this exhibition.

For her first solo show with Venvi Art Gallery, Falbo is exploring the complexities of vulnerability and relationships, using fruit as a metaphor. In her debut solo exhibition, Twilight Sleep, at Venvi Art Gallery in Tallahassee, Florida, Carrie Ann Baade presents imagery that reflects on the female experience. She does not shy away from difficult and real-life issues, which are represented by allegorical symbols and figures in collage-like compositions. Her paintings are considered autobiographical as well with first-person storytelling throughout.

In her allegorical narratives, she comments on difficult, real-world issues in women’s lives, that push the viewer to deconstruct and reflect upon the symbols and metaphors she is presenting.
