Plastic chairs have been subject to McCoy's paintings for a while, a white object usually filled with color from lichen, dirt, and weathering surrounded by a garden of color. Chairs remain empty but open, a symbol of gathering in most places in the world, the plastic chair as a portrait elevates this simple but important cultural symbol. This is one of two inspired by Bob and Edwin's garden.
